The case
A 14-year-old patient with a Class II malocclusion: the upper teeth sat well ahead of the lower ones, with an increased overjet. At the assessment they also reported difficulty breathing through the nose.
What we did
To correct the bite without surgery, orthodontic treatment was planned around anchorage mini-implants — small temporary screws placed in the bone — which acted as a fixed anchor point to retract the upper teeth in a controlled, precise way, without shifting the teeth used as a reference.
Outcome
Bite corrected, teeth aligned and a balanced smile — all achieved without orthognathic surgery.
